Our Story
Long Before SoLoud, There Was the Grow
SoLoud did not begin in a boardroom or as a marketing concept. It began in the 1990s with small closet grows, curiosity, experimentation, and a growing obsession with exceptional cannabis flower.
Those early grows created the foundation for everything that followed. Every room, every plant, every mistake, and every successful harvest added another layer of experience. What began as a personal passion eventually developed into home cultivation, medical production, commercial industry work, breeding, and the creation of SoLoud Seeds.
The Founder
A Flower Person From the Beginning
I have always been a flower person.
Before breeding, before commercial gardens, and before the cannabis industry matured, I was chasing the flower that made you stop, smell it again, and wonder how something could carry that much character.
I started cultivating cannabis in closet grows during the 1990s. At that time, there were no polished grow stores, social media grow journals, or endless libraries of cultivation content. You learned through observation, repetition, experimentation, and experience.
Around the year 2000, those early closet grows developed into more advanced home gardens. The rooms became more refined, the genetics became more important, and the focus shifted from simply producing flower to understanding what separated ordinary plants from truly memorable ones.
Aroma, flavor, resin, structure, appearance, vigor, and the complete experience of the finished flower became the standard. That standard still guides SoLoud today.

The foundation was built through small, private grows focused on observation, experimentation, plant health, and learning directly from the garden.

Closet grows evolved into advanced home gardens with a deeper focus on environment, genetics, quality, and finished flower.
Medical Garden
Experience expanded into designing, building, and operating a mid-sized commercial medical cannabis garden.
Recreational Industry
Work continued as the recreational market developed, creating direct experience with farms, processors, breeders, and cannabis businesses.

Medical Cultivation
From Home Gardens to Commercial Production
Around 2010, years of home cultivation developed into designing, building, and operating a mid-sized commercial medical cannabis garden.
Running that garden required much more than simply growing plants. It involved room design, environmental management, production planning, genetic selection, plant health, workflow development, quality control, and the daily problem-solving required to produce consistently at scale.
That period created a deeper understanding of how genetics perform beyond a single plant. Yield, structure, flowering behavior, uniformity, resin production, aroma, flavor, and overall quality all had to be evaluated together.
Recreational Experience
Experience Across the Industry
As recreational cannabis developed around 2014, the industry changed quickly. Cultivation expanded, processing became more advanced, brands emerged, and cannabis moved from private gardens into a highly competitive commercial market.
During that transition, I worked directly with large commercial farms, processors, breeders, cultivators, and other cannabis businesses. That experience provided a broader understanding of production, quality, wholesale relationships, genetics, processing, branding, and the realities of operating in a developing industry.
It also reinforced something I already believed. Scale means nothing if the flower loses its identity.

Great genetics are more than a recognizable name on a package. They begin with exceptional parent material, thoughtful breeding decisions, proper evaluation, careful selection, and breeders who are willing to stand behind their work.
We are especially drawn to loud, distinctive, and memorable flavor profiles. Candy, fruit, gas, cream, dough, mint, fuel, funk, floral notes, and complex combinations all have a place when they bring real identity to the finished flower.
